New Fandoms

Posted: November 12th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Uncategorized | No Comments »

You see that pretty sliding window of images on www.fanfic.me main page? Notice the first line of each story: FANDOM ADDED.

We’ll be posting news about new releases of movies, TV shows, games, books, cartoons… you name it. Of course, we’ll make sure the fandom is added for you to add fanfic to it.

If you have a fandom you want to post to but we haven’t added the fandom yet, just email us at info@ fanfic.me, and we’ll add it. Don’t forget to remove that space in the email address ;-)

October 20, 2011

Lots of new updates were rolled out yesterday/today!

  • Story post/edit Fandom Selection – we have a slick new way to SELECT A FANDOM for stories you add. Much improved!
  • Facebook Like – click on any fanfic story to LIKE it via your Facebook Profile
  • Google +1 – User your Google Plus account to +1 any story

We also did a bunch of work around ratings and COPPA rules.

  • Story Ratings display & Selection changes
  • Age verification and story access
  • Profane word filtering

And lastly, we are compiling a list of authors who do not want fanfiction written based on their works. This list will be part of the Terms of Service.

The new site design is just about done, and it’s beautiful! We can’t wait to get it live – should be a few more days.

In the meantime, we’re making due with this not at all impressive design, LOL. About is now live along with FoundersPrivacy, and Terms.

We’ve also added this page – the Updates Blog – to keep everyone in the loop of where we’re at and to solicit your feedback on what features need improving or adding.

Last week, Chad came up with a fabulous solution for the Fandom Search drop down issue (it was massive – not very helpful to those searching for stories). The new Fandom Search is great! Next up: Fandom Select for writers is being worked on. Again, we’re doing away with the drop down from hell and will replace it with something far more efficient for writers uploading stories.

More updates coming soon!
